Gavin.T “My Story So Far”
Monday, March 19th, 2007It’s been a long and winding journey… but i’m finally here tonight~~~ *stops abruptly* NaHh… that’s not how this is gonna start… appropriate though as it is, since Guy Sebastian was and still is the 1st Australian Idol… but no… hehe
Let’s see… where do i start? I’ve been so caught up with everything here in the land down under, that i hardly have any time to go online and do the things i used to when i was back home… namely… blogging… which explains why i’ve not written in my blog for the last 3 weeks… NO! i was not neglecting my blog… i had too much settling down to do… what with the bills, electricity, water and gas alike… not to mention the assignments, (that are, by the way, piling up at a rapid pace) getting accustomed to the culture here which is rather hard to do if i may say so… for reasons that i myself have yet to discover.. or maybe i’m just afraid they won’t be able to accept the crazy, eccentric, and wild person that yours truly is, though that is one of their primary attributes… Wild Party Animals! Anyways.. as i was saying before i ran off topic(AGAIN!), *ahem* I had no time and there were lots of stuff to do.. and there still is mind you which is why i had no time to blog. Good news is, (for some of you maybe bad news) this post shall be an update of all things i have done since my arrival here. My previous post served as sort of a… preview… if i may, of my life here in Australia. Anyways, I’ve learned to cook, but nothing special… i can cook fried pasta and rice? HAHAHAHA, which is sufficient for me i guess. I am washing my own clothes, vacuuming the floor, washing the dishes, wiping the table after meals… basically, i have to do house chores. Call me a spoilt brat, but I never did any house chores back home.. so this kind of a lifestyle is something new to me… I’m kinda looking at the brighter side of things… this whole independent thing is and will be quite good for me at the end of it all i reckon… what say u?
It’s autumn here now, so it does tend to get quite chilly at night and sometimes even during the day… but it’s not THAT cold yet.. somewhere around… I’d say an average of 15 degrees? I love the cold! It has though gotten a bit colder over the past few days and i’m actually starting to dread the winter season… =S YeEeSHhH~~~ I’m here with 5 of my friends and my girlfriend… so that is a major consolation in itself.. we stay fairly near each other… about a 7-10 minute walk from each others’ house… The FOOD!! They have Burger King here, but as most of you know… it’s called Hungry Jack’s over here… and the most significant difference between Malaysia’s and Australia’s Jacks/Kings, is the….. B-A-C-O-? care to fill in the last blank? The ever succulent tender lovely juice dripping BACON!!!! Muahahahahah~!! * takes deep breath and calms down*
I think i MAY be putting on weight… but i’m not sure coz i don’t have a weighing machine here, but I have been pigging out a lot… which brings me to my point… i’m gonna have to wish my bacon farewell for the time being just to insure that i’m maintaining my weight properly.
(THE AGONY~!!) Hahahaha, erm… let’s see.. the people here… are generally OK… but for the one or two that are… how would you put it….? different when it comes to people of other races?
alas~~~ i have turned my other cheek to them and not cared… in good time… their time will come round..
*ahem* For many of you who personally know the crazy person that i am, I’ve always been speaking with a few accents here and there.. ranging from malay, to indian, to chinese(Duh-Uh) =_=", to irish and etc. and over here… i’ve actually been intensely analyzing how the Aussies speak and converse. I’m actually speaking to them with an accent! How good or bad is my Aussie accent? I don’t know… but they don’t seem to notice… either that or their just being polite… hehehe =p I know.. I know… why can’t i just speak in my normal Malaysian accent? I don’t know.. is it an effect they have on me? Haha, you know when you talk to people with accents… sometimes you tend to try to ,follow on? Okok… as true as that may be, it’s just an excuse… I have fun doing it! hehehe, Uni life… well, as said earlier.. assignments are piling up, but on a lighter note… i’ve joined the soccer club and I also do play basketball sometimes… though the height advantage they have over me is rather demoralizing… but it’s all good… My lecturers are nice too, but nothing beats the study culture and home kinda feel IACT gave me. (IACT = My College back home) which is why, as i have said earlier, i’m still trying to adapt… Good news is… easter break is in 2 weeks time!(which is when all 4 of my assignments are due!!) and i shall be going forth to the city known as Melbourne! Yay~~~ i can finally shuffle with Melbourne shufflers!! Ok… that’s not all i’m going to do… I’ll do some sight-seeing, shopping, walking around, eating… but… yah… i’ve always wanted to go to a Melbourne club…
so there… I think i may or may not have covered every single detail, but… i think… this is sufficient information for "My Story So Far"
See ya then.. Cheers mate~!
